Supporting the Sick

A healthy man, they say, lives in a healthy body. And Jesus went about proclaiming the kingdom, teaching them and healing them of their diseases (Matthew 4:23). With education now at their doorstep, my strong conviction in the dictum “A healthy mind lives in a healthy body” propels me to think about the need to have a clinic for the community. Like the school, the community members donated land freely and members of the community came in their numbers to offer free labour in the building of the clinic like they did with the primary school. The women carried water on their heads, the young men did the heavy work, the elderly men gave the guidance and told humorous stories that spiced up the gatherings. Tired bones and limbs became rejuvenated as we laughed at the nice stories. Today, the community has a story to tell. A story of thank you to people of goodwill who have been generous, a story of now having a clinic at their doorstep. Connected to the health of the people is that I have been able to get a number of wells made for clean water for the people. And like the school, we are dreaming big. The clinic is not our end goal; we hope to grow it into a hospital where more services will be offered. More rooms need to be built and equipment needed to help with examinations, testing and treatment.

If you want to help us tell a story,  a story which will include you and say, thanks to your donation, we have a story to tell to the glory of God, you are welcome to help.
